Charlie Allen

Harmonica

Growing up in Colorado, Charlie immersed himself in the music of the ’60s and ’70s, catching early live shows from legends like Deep Purple, War, Santana, The Who, and The Allman Brothers Band. While he has always loved the sound and soul of the harmonica, it wasn’t until later in life that he truly went all in — diving headfirst down the blues rabbit hole. He can often be found at local open mics and blues jams or sitting in with fellow musicians, but his true passion is making music with friends as part of WANDERING ROADS.

Fun fact: Charlie is a longtime ski patroller at Eldora Mountain Resort.

Tim Heine

Lead Guitar, Vocals

Fueled at an early age by ’70s metal, Tim fell hard for the riffs of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. After delivering countless newspapers, he scraped together his first guitar rig and it was game on. It all shifted one summer when he discovered The Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers, opening the door to improvisational music as a living, breathing conversation rather than a fixed script. Spending time in the crowd at countless Dead shows cemented a core belief he still carries today: the audience is part of the band, and the music is a shared experience.

Fun fact: During down time you’ll often find Tim climbing at Eldorado Canyon.

John Kemp

Drums, Vocals

Born and raised in Maryland, John’s lifelong fascination with music began at an early age, sparked by the sounds of big band and swing radiating from a vintage tube radio. In his youth, John honed his skills playing along to the diverse sounds of local radio, fully immersing himself in the music scene upon moving to Colorado in 1991. Since then, he has performed with numerous bands, specializing in rock while frequently exploring his deep appreciation for the blues.

Fun Fact: John is the only member of his family who plays an instrument.

Geoff Spakes

Rhythm/Slide Guitar, Vocals

Raised in south-central Florida on a steady diet of southern rock, Geoff’s musical roots run deep. His first album purchase — One More from the Road by Lynyrd Skynyrd — set the tone and still holds heavy rotation. Though his tastes range from the blues to jam bands, southern and classic rock remain the soul of his sound. Every time he steps on stage reminds him that it’s never too late to live a rock-and-roll fantasy.

Fun fact: Geoff is also an award winning published author.

Steve Waltman

Bass, Vocals

In his early teens, the fire was lit and Steve answered the call by picking up the bass. Drawn first to hard rock, he cut his teeth exploring metal and punk, playing in bands influenced by everything heavy — from Black Sabbath to Slayer and beyond. Over time, his love of playing pushed him past any single genre, choosing commitment to the instrument over stylistic boundaries. That journey has led him through rock, country, blues, and now southern rock. As a musician, Steve finds his greatest satisfaction in uncovering the heart and soul of a song — honoring its spirit — and then watching people smile, move, and dance as the music comes alive.

Fun Fact: A native Coloradoan, Steve is an avid fly fisherman.
